Hadley’s New Assignment Submission Line

Hadley’s new Assignment Submission Line is an easy and convenient way to submit your Hadley lesson assignments by phone. This toll-free number allows you to phone in your assignments to your instructor’s assignment submission mailbox.

How It Works

The Assignment Submission phone number is 1-800-449-1530. When you call, you will hear the following message:

Welcome to the Hadley School Assignment Submission Line. For general instructions on using this system, press 9. You may enter your instructor’s extension number at any time. If you do not know your instructor’s extension number, you may press 8 to listen to the entire instructor list, or press pound to use the dial-by-name directory.

This message will repeat until you have made a selection. You can avoid having to listen to the entire instructor list by referring to the list of instructor names and extension numbers.

After you key in your instructor's extension, you will hear the following message:

This is the assignment submission mailbox for (instructor name). Please make sure to record your name, the name of the course, the lesson number, as well as the best time to reach you by phone. At the tone, please record your assignment.

Before you actually hear the tone, the message will relate the following further instructions:

If you need to pause the recording, press pound for message options menu. You may then press 3 to resume recording. Every 10 minutes you will be automatically placed in the message options menu. Simply press 3 to continue recording. If you are disconnected, please call back and continue where you have left off. When you are done, you may either hang up or press the pound key for more options.

Once you hear the tone, you can begin recording your assignment. The tone is quick and rather high-pitched, so listen carefully.

After you have become familiar with the functions of the five keys on your phone pad that are used for submitting assignments, you can skip the message by pressing the pound key (#) once. You will hear the tone and can begin recording your assignment.

Helpful Hints

Before dialing the Assignment Submission Line, review what you want to read or say for your assignment. Begin your recording with your name, the title of your course, the assignment number, the phone number you would like your instructor to use and the best time he or she can contact you.

Become familiar with your phone key pad, and review the keys you will be using and what will happen when you call. Keep in mind that if you are submitting a long assignment, the system will prompt you again with the menu after 10 minutes of recording time. After a 10-minute session, you will hear:

Press 1 to review (from the beginning of your recording); 2 to re-record (from the beginning); 3 to append (continue where you left off); 4 to cancel; or the pound key to save your message.

There is no way to rewind and fix a mistake, so don't panic or worry about it. If you make a mistake or think you could do better, just say you want to start a section or line over again and continue on from there. If you need to pause to find your place again, press pound (#) and remember that you will hear the menu reminding you of the keys to press. Either listen to the menu for review, or simply ignore it as you locate where you want to start recording again. Then press 3 to continue where you left off.

When you are finished, you can review your entire recording before sending by pressing pound once, followed by 1. When your recording ends, you will hear the usual menu choices. If you are satisfied with your recording, press pound, and the system will say: "Message received."

If you are not satisfied with your recording and do not want to submit it, press pound followed by 4. After a short pause, you will be disconnected without your message being sent, and you can try again later.
