Distance education, formerly called correspondence or home study, has been in existence in the United States for well over 100 years. Hadley has been providing distance education courses since 1920.
Hadley’s distance education programs meet the needs of busy adults. With distance education, you can work in the comfort of your own home or office, avoid travel concerns and schedule study time when it best suits your learning needs and life’s demands. Distance education is considered by many to be a cost-effective way to learn.
Yes. In fact, most of the courses offered in the Professional Studies program are available online. Email submission of assignments is also encouraged.
Alternate media is available for selected courses.
The time it takes to complete a course depends upon the course length and the determination of the student. Hadley courses are generally between six and 10 lessons, although some courses have as few as one lesson, and the longest has 30 lessons.
Students taking a course online or submitting assignments by email are expected to submit a lesson every two to four weeks. Students submitting assignments through the postal mail system are expected to submit at least one assignment per month.
Complete contact information for your instructor is included with the course materials. You can also access their contact information online by going to the school’s Web site, www.hadley.edu, and visiting the “About Hadley” page.
Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit is offered. One CEU is generally defined as 10 hours of successful participation in an organized continuing education program under responsible direction and qualified instruction.
Approval and acceptance of CEUs is at the discretion of your professional certification body, education agency, employer or entity that recognizes professional development.
Hadley does not offer college credit at this time; however, we do partner with institutions of higher learning that accept selected Hadley courses as part of their curriculum. Check with Student Services for details.
Hadley course fees range from $99 to $139.
Payment by credit card, purchase order, or money order in U.S. dollars is accepted. Review payment options for details.
